• Equipment

Deciding what to take and what to leave behind when off roading is a difficult choice. You have to balance the weight and size of the equipment with the loadspace available and also consider how much of that equipment you are actually likely to need.

It is virtually impossible to produce a definitive list of equipment needed, a lot depends on the type of vehicle, the type of off roading you plan to carry out, and personal preference. To simplify matters, we have produced two lists of equipment, the first is the bare minimum which should be carried in every off road vehicle and without which you should never venture off road. The second is a recommended equipment list of things which you may find useful and you can build up as time goes on.

    Essential Equipment

Tool Kit (screwdrivers, spanners, pliers and socket set etc)
    First Aid Kit
Fire Extinguisher (Minimum size 1Kg AFFF or Dry Powder)
Tow Rope (4.5m nylon tow rope 12Ton breaking strain Min)
    Recommended Equipment

    CB Radio
    Shovel
    Hi-lift Jack
    Torch with spare batteries
Assortment of Bow and D shackles

This is by no means a definitive list, when buying equipment especially recovery and safety equipment only buy the best available.
